1684–1702 Queen Street East is located at the northwest corner of Queen Street East and Kingston Road. It is currently comprised of three vacant lots and one, 2-storey heritage-designated building (previously Murphy’s Law Pub and Kitchen).
WE ARE EXCITED TO BE REIMAGINING THE SITE WITH A NEW 10-STOREY, HIGH-QUALITY, MIXED-USE, PURPOSE-BUILT RENTAL DEVELOPMENT THAT WILL:
Improve the public realm, connectivity, and circulation around the site
Preserve the existing heritage building
Contribute additional housing options and new retail to the community
The proposal aims to significantly improve the public realm with a focus on pedestrian activity and connectivity. The inclusion of street-level retail space and restaurant space within the existing heritage building will support the area’s commercial character, creating a vibrant and inviting streetscape for the community. Closing Penny Lane N-S to vehicles and introducing a pedestrian connection, along with townhouse units and landscaping features, will further promote safety and a well-connected public realm.
This timeline includes key milestones and engagement opportunities throughout the planning process.
